Well, it’s almost the end of the summer now and we shouldn’t have too many super hot days left this year. Our air conditioning did a really great job on cooling our house this year, right up until the last week or so. I’m not sure what really happened, but all of a sudden, the central A/C stopped cooling the house off and our house was stuffy and uncomfortable. The weather around here is unpredictable at best. We live by one of the great lakes and you never know what the outside temperature is going to be from one day to the next. We knew that it was a gamble to try and leave the air conditioning broken throughout the end of the summer and the fall because chances were that we were going to need to run the A/C at least a few times. But then again, we didn’t really want to spend all of that money on an expensive air conditioning repair bill at the very end of the hot season, either. My husband decided that the best thing to do would be to try and fix the A/C himself. I thought that this was a terrible idea, because I have seen his home improvement projects in the past and they don’t usually end well. Anyway, he started messing around with the A/C. Needless to say, the cooling system still isn’t working and I’m afraid that he has done something to the HVAC wiring that’s going to end up burning our house down. I’m calling the local HVAC business to have them come and check everything out for us. I should have really just done that in the first place!
