When I showed my wife tickets for us to go on a flight to a tropical island, she was really delighted.
- We hadn’t been on a vacation forever.
The funny thing is, my wife told me she never flew on a plane before. I was totally surprised. I actually thought we had flown together before, but then I realized that we never actually had. When we got on the flight, she was acting like she was nervous. She even asked me if this plane was going to stay in the air. I told her it was rare that planes ever crashed, and she gave me a crazy look. I don’t think I was helping to make her feel more comfortable, so I told her to just relax and put on her earbuds. While we were flying, she kept asking me how to adjust the temperature control settings. She saw other people adjusting the little HVAC knobs, and she didn’t know how they worked. I told her you couldn’t actually change the temperature control settings, but you could adjust the airflow by opening up the little HVAC vent. She didn’t believe that we couldn’t adjust the temperature control setting, and so she pushed the button for the flight attendant. When she asked the flight attendant, the flight attendant said the same thing to her. She was kind of mad because she thought the air wasn’t cool enough, but she was happy when we landed and we were on the tropical island! I think what really made her happy was the fact that we had a fireplace in our hotel room, and we had a nice climate control system. The beach was also to die for!
