Getting heating unit fixed before mom finds out

For Christmas this year, my family is taking my dad’s current RV on a road trip to the mountains.

In order for my mom to camp, she will only agree if there is an oil furnace included.

She gets frigid absolutely and there’s no way we would be able to get her to camp in the middle of the mountain while it’s frigid outside. There is snow expected, as well, so it’s a fine thing my dad had the gas furnaces tested out before we planned the trip. Come to find out, the oil furnace in the RV was not functioning respectfully a few afternoons before the trip! Not to freak out my mom, we decided not to tell her about the malfunction. We would be able to get it fixed before then and it should not be a problem. We were a little upset about getting the repair done before the HVAC shop closed for the Christmas holiday. We called our local heating and A/C repair shop and they were able to fit us in, and although they don’t usually repair gas furnaces in motorhomes, they agreed to give it a shot. We got fortunate and they were able to repair the issue in no time. We got the RV back just in time for the trip. We were so glad that the oil furnace was finally working well because the weather was even colder than we thought it was going to be. It was an attractive trip and my mom was glad the whole time, which is rare.
