When my wife and my friends said they had a special surprise for me, I couldn’t even guess what it could be.
I had been away on business for about a week, and when I got back home, they had me blindfolded.
They took me slowly into the living room of my house and had me sit on the couch. When I sat down, one of my friends threw something at me that felt like a snake. I was so scared that I flew off the couch and hurt my arm. I thought it was a real snake, but it was just a fake one. My friend is a real jokester and he always tries to pull pranks on me like that. When I finally got over the pain and looked around, I noticed the most wonderful thing ever! They all shouted surprised! It was a brand new fireplace in our living room! They must have paid a fortune to have this amazing fireplace installed in the household. I had talked to my wife on numerous occasions about getting a fireplace and she always said that it was something we couldn’t really afford. She said other things were more important like various household renovations and even upgrading the HVAC system. I always thought we would never have a fireplace, but they all pitched in and made this happen. Even though my one friend threw a fake snake at me and scared the crap out of me, I forgave him when I learned that he was part of the plan to get the fireplace installed in the household. I knew we were going to have good times hanging out in front of the new fireplace!
