Ever since our son, who is 7 years old, found his first fortunate quarter, he has held on to it for dear life! Including even going to sleep with it, but he is not like most adolescents, he doesn’t like to sleep with stuffed critters, he instead prefers to sleep with his fortunate coin, however for the next month since he found that coin, he has brought it everywhere with him! To school, to the playground, grocery shopping with me, at dinner and so on, then at this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if the coin was glued to his hand.
He loved it so much, however so that’s why, when I didn’t see him carrying his fortunate coin 1 day I was upset, but when I asked him about it, he immediately burst into tears, and started pointing towards the air conditioner vents.
The two of us have the air conditioning vents that are on the floor, so I guess he must have accidentally dropped the coin in there, but i tried to provide him another coin, although he wouldn’t take it and wanted his special coin back. He cried practically day and night, and I eventually just gave up and called a HVAC professional for a HVAC vent cleaning. When I had looked inside it looked pretty dirty inside anyways. I told the HVAC specialist when he arrived to retrieve the lost fortunate coin. He retrieved the fortunate coin and gave it back to our son who hastily went back to his happily bubbly self. The air conditioner vents were cleaned, and even though it was high-priced seeing our son’s smiling face was well worth it.
