Finding the right class for me

When I signed up for a gym membership I was told that I had to take a fitness class or do personal training.

  • They don’t leave you to your own devices in the gym.

The fitness center prides themselves on giving a person one on one attention while working out. I decided that I would choose the personal trainer that is the hottest. If I had to look at him while working out, I wanted some eye candy. I should have paid attention to what he taught. I ended up in a weightlifting class with all men. I quickly realized that the people who attend this gym are not like me. They actually work out everyday and are focused. They aren’t hoping to lose a few pounds and just stop coming after a month. The weight lifting class was more than just free weights too. The personal trainer had us use battle ropes, weighted poles and medicine balls. I even had to lift one of those giant tires that army men do in training. By the end of every class I was in pain. My whole body was one big mess of soreness. My personal trainer eventually politely told me that I needed to pick a different class. I wasn’t keeping up with everyone and clearly wasn’t having a good time. I now am in a spin class and it is right up my alley. My trainer is a lot of fun and I am no longer the worst one in class. The personal trainer is a woman, so there is no flirting there. I also think she would hunt me down if I didn’t come to class.
