Insurance covered my month to month situation

My home unfortunately is in a horrible area; Anytime there is a hurricane warning, I guess my home is going to suffer from some disfigure, and typically the beach home gets flooded or windows get smashed due to the hurricane.

Recently, my beach home got totally disfigured.

A tree fell right on top of my home; It smashed through my roof and down the center of the house. The tree had to be disconnectd, the dining room flooring repaired and a modern roof needed to be put on. I could not have all these services done at the same time either. Also, there obviously was a lot of demand for tree removal and dealers in the area. I concerned at first what I was going to do about my living situation. I did not want to stay in a hotel that long or rent an lake house and need to transport all my stuff… Luckily, through my insurance, I was able to stay at a month to month rental. The fully furnished rental was only 10 thirds away from my home. I only moved my necessary items inside and just lived there while the labor was being done. I had a fully functional dining room, a TV and laboring plumbing. The short term rental was exactly what I needed for the situation, then being a month to month lease gave me peace of mind. At any point my home could be done and I would want to go back home. The little rental lake house was honestly nice for the situation I had. Insurance covered most of it and the dealers moved fast.
