I am an only child and my mom really wants a grandbaby. As soon as I got married she started asking me about a grandbaby almost every time we talked. She knows Fred and I are waiting until we both finish college but she asks anyway. But recently she has stopped asking. I think it is because she got herself a little dog. She is treating this dog like a baby. She buys him little clothes, got him a super expensive bed that is in the dog’s own room, and really babies him. I think it is funny but I don’t tell my mom this. Recently, I found out that my mom even got zone control for her house so that her “baby” will stay comfortable. She said that her dog is always shivering so he must be cold. My mom, on the other hand, is always hot. So now the dog’s room is set to a much warmer temperature. In fact, I think the whole house is being kept a bit warmer than usual. That is, except for Mom’s bedroom. She keeps her bedroom and chilly 60 degrees 360 day out of the years both night and day. I know that getting zone control installed is not cheap. I wouldn’t do that for a dog. I would just put more sweaters on the dog if it was me. Or, maybe get a heated blanket. But whatever. I will let my mom have this. After all, it has mostly stopped the badgering about a grandbaby. For now. So I’ll let her baby the dog and buy it zone control.
