For the past year, my spouse and I had been squirreling away every penny the two of us could afford to save.
Some weeks, it was only change that went into the savings, other weeks, the two of us could have as much as twenty dollars.
It honestly depended on the bills the two of us had to pay, and how much our groceries cost. With three kids, our grocery bills were rather expensive at times. Last week, the two of us called the Heating, Ventilation & A/C company to have our furnace scheduled for inspection and maintenance. We also needed to order a modern box of air filters. We already knew the cost of the air filters, however the two of us weren’t sure what the inspection was going to cost. We checked our savings account, and the two of us had roughly $500 to spend with the Heating, Ventilation & A/C device company. If it went over that amount, the two of us were in serious trouble because the two of us couldn’t afford it. We sat in the kitchen talking and our youngest child came in. She was still in her pajamas, however she was holding her piggy bank. She said that the two of us could have all of her currency for the Heating, Ventilation & A/C device company. She didn’t want to be frosty in the winter. I almost cried as I explained that the two of us would be just fine. Mommy and daddy had everything covered. I wiped my tears and my spouse was grinning from ear to ear. He picked up our child and told her that the two of us weren’t in that much trouble. He told her that the two of us just concerned a little more than most people. That didn’t mean the two of us weren’t holding our breath when the Heating, Ventilation & A/C serviceman came to our household. When the two of us were done with the inspection, the two of us took a $5 bill and put in our daughter’s bank.
