I wiped my tears & my husband was grinning from ear to ear.
For roughly a year, my husband & I had been squirreling away all the money we could afford to save. Some weeks, it was mere change that would go into the savings, other weeks, the two of us could have as much as 50 dollars. It basically depended on the bills the two of us had to pay, & how much our groceries cost. With 3 little ones, our grocery bills were pretty costly at times. Last week, the two of us called the Heating & Air Conditioning equipment business to have our heating equipment scheduled for inspection & repairs. Both of us also needed to order a new box of air filters. Both of us were aware of the cost of the air filters, but the two of us weren’t even sure what the inspection was going to cost. Both of us had a good look at our savings account, & the two of us had a little over $500 to spend with the Heating & Air Conditioning equipment business. If it went over that particular amount, the two of us were in some serious trouble because the two of us honestly couldn’t afford it. Both of us sat in the home talking & our youngest son walked in. He was still in his pajamas, although he was holding his piggy bank. He said that the two of us could have all of his money for the Heating & Air Conditioning equipment business. He didn’t have the desire to be cold in the winter. I almost cried as I explained that the two of us would be okay. Mommy & daddy had everything covered pretty much. I wiped my tears & my husband was grinning from ear to ear. He picked up my son & told him that the two of us weren’t in that much trouble. He was saying to him that the two of us just were severely concerned… That didn’t mean the two of us weren’t holding our breath when the Heating & Air Conditioning equipment worker showed up. When the two of us were eventually finished with the inspection, the two of us took a $5 bill & put that money in our son’s bank.
