Going camping in the mountains with an RV

For Christmas this year, our family is taking our dad’s new RV on a road trip to the mountains, but in order for our mom to camp, she will only agree if there is a furnace included.

She gets freezing absolutely and there’s no way we would be able to get her to camp in the middle of the mountain while it’s freezing outside.

There is snow expected, as well, so it’s an unbelievable thing our dad had the oil heating systems checked out before every one of us planned the trip. Come to find out, the furnace in the RV was not functioning correctly a few nights before the trip. Not to freak out our mom, we decided not to tell her about the malfunction. We would be able to get it fixed before then and it should not be a problem. We were a little worried about getting the maintenance done before the heating and air conditioning shop closed for the Christmas holiday. We called our local heating and AC maintenance shop and they were able to fit us in! Although they do not usually maintain oil heating systems in motorhomes, they agreed to give it a shot. We were lucky and they were able to fix the issue in no time. We got the RV back just in time for the trip. We were so happy that the furnace was finally working well because the weather was even colder than every one of us thought it was going to be. It was an unbelievable trip and our mom was happy the whole time, which is rare.
