No AC in my HVAC truck

When I was growing up I realized that it wasn’t so easy to make a livable wage.

  • My family was consistently in trouble with their financial situation and I understood that I was likely to lead the same lifestyle.

I never wanted to be so poor that I was living from paycheck to paycheck. Unfortunately, it’s not easy to escape your circumstances when you have grown up in an economically challenged area. I had a lot of problems figuring out how I would get out of high school and start living on my own right away. Eventually I realized that there was no point in working at the local McDonald’s when I could go to the local trade school and get my heating and cooling certification. It would only take me 18 months to become a licensed HVAC technician and then I could have a real professional career. I really looked forward to the option of being a skilled worker who had potential to work at various heating and cooling repair shops. I was excited about learning technical skills and having HVAC expertise under my belt. I never realized that becoming a heating and cooling technician would have so many challenges though. I’m glad that I make a steady paycheck because it is a hot and sweaty job. Right now, it’s particularly miserable because of the outdoor heat and humidity. It doesn’t help that everyone is needing air conditioning repairs at their houses. However, it’s even worse that we need an air conditioning repair in my HVAC work truck.
