When I took our wife on a trip to a foreign land, I thought it would be a undoubtedly romantic getaway, however one huge concern is that we didn’t speak the language, and it was impossible to understand anybody.
The people I was with and I were trying to figure out why there wasn’t a climate control idea in our hotel room! Finally I had to draw pictures to get across what I was saying.
The people I was trying to communicate with drew pictures showing they had no climate control systems. This still didn’t make sense to us, and then our wife had an idea, she took out her cellphone and went to her translation app. She asked them a question about the climate control idea and had it translated to their language. She then recorded their response and had it translated to italian. They thought the translation program was amazing and they were undoubtedly gleeful about that. They apologized to us because they said in their country, they just didn’t use climate control systems. Only a easily few handful of rich people had air conditioning system, but none of the hotels had anything love that. They had fans though. The people I was with and I settled for the fans because it was better than nothing. The people I was with and I absolutely went around to some amazing locations and we were able to make the most of it. It wasn’t quite as romantic as I expected, but we still managed to have a fantastic time! When it was time to go, the people we met and spoke to through our translation program said they were going to miss us, and we said we would miss them too.
