I got a promotion at the hotel because of my brilliant idea

When I went to work at a local hotel, I thought the job was going to be easy. This was mainly because I would be working the overnight shift. I figured for the most part, people just go to sleep or keep to themselves during the overnight hours. Well, I came to find that people were always reaching out to me for help. There were a lot of problems with the HVAC units in these hotel rooms. Some people genuinely didn’t know how to use the HVAC units. A lot of these HVAC units were hooked up to a smart thermostat and I guess I could understand how some people weren’t savvy with that type of technology. I would show those people how to use their smart thermostats and how to connect them to their phones. Other people had genuine problems and I would have to call the HVAC company to have an HVAC worker fix the HVAC units. I couldn’t believe how much we had to pay for HVAC emergency services. These customers demanded working HVAC units though, so we really had no choice but to repair these HVAC units. I actually had a good idea to save money when talking to the owner of the hotel. I said that all the HVAC units should be tested during regular hours so we could have them repaired and avoid HVAC emergency repair costs. He thought this was a good idea and because I was thinking like a manager, he promoted me to being the night manager. I was thankful for the promotion and I was able to help improve the hotel in numerous ways.
