Fitness and exercise are good ways to stay healthy

I love when the winter season ends, because the weather gets warmer and the sun comes out every day. I love being outdoors soaking up the Vitamin D. I live in a very small town where there are no fitness centers or public gyms. We have a county YMCA, but they charge a huge fee for the membership and the place is always packed with people. They have racquetball courts, tennis, and an indoor pool. They also have an indoor basketball court. On the first floor, there is a fitness center with a few different exercise machines like treadmills, elliptical machines, and stationary bicycles. There are constantly people waiting to use the exercise equipment. I rarely get any good exercise during the winter, because of the cold temperatures. As soon as the spring months arrive, I go outside and start walking. I love to walk and it is great exercise. There is a great walking trail by my house and it covers six miles of the small town. Fitness and exercise are great ways to stay healthy. I also eat a nutritious meal with all of the fruits, vegetables, and proteins that are in season. My friends and I shop at the farmers market and we always buy fruits and vegetables that are in season. Right now, we get a lot of baby eggplants and squash. They make flavorful dishes like eggplant parmesan and ratatouille. It’s also strawberry season right now and all of the berries are ripe, red and delicious. Fresh fruits and vegetables are the perfect side dish for any piece of chicken, fish, or pork.
