My husband and I were divorced five months ago.
We were separated for three years before the divorce was final.
Thank goodness we didn’t have any children together, because that would have made our divorce much more messy. It was already a tough process, because my husband didn’t want to say goodbye. He tried to convince me that he would change, but after 10 years together, I knew that wasn’t true. We were growing apart and I didn’t see any way to fix our relationship. I was the person to file for divorce, even though my husband wasn’t surprised to see the paperwork. He tried and tried to get me to change my mind, but I already made a decision when I contacted the lawyer. During the time that I was married, I did not work outside of the home. I was happy to stay home and cook and clean for my man. That was one of the reasons why I was unhappy. I started a job a month or two after the paperwork was served. I found a job working in the office of a heating and cooling installation company. I handle all of the billing paperwork. I like working for the heating and cooling installation company. The owner of the company is an older gentleman that is my age. He is divorced as well, and he seemed to understand what I was going through. I’ve met a lot of new friends since I started working for the heating and cooling installation company. My life is drastically different now and I know that I made the right decision when I asked my husband for a divorce.
