I had just moved into this new apartment, in a beautiful city.
However, I knew my presence alone caught the attention of my neighbors. It was about 4 o’clock in the morning and I had just arrived home from a friend’s place. I heard something from inside, as I approached the door, I suddenly pictured every horror movie scene. I went to turn on the light in my living room, and there was my landlord resting there with my shoes on. I looked at him strangely and asked him why he was there. He claimed he was there to maintain my a/c. This did not make sense, because as far as I knew, there was nothing wrong with it. My landlord stumbled over to the thermostat, tapped on it, and said once again that it wasn’t absolutely working right. I went over to where he was resting and slowly approached him. I smelled something on his breath that told me he was not in the right state of mind. I asked him to leave and told him it was not okay for him to be there, without my knowledge. He said that he only came over because he had gotten a call from some of his properties saying the a/c was broken. He claimed he could not remember which venue the call was in reference to. I looked at him and told him once again to leave. He finally left and I checked the thermostat and as I had already known, the air conditioning was just fine. One week later, I moved out.
